Mr. Leighton was a member of the V.F.W. in Fitchburg. He had worked as a cook in California. He is survived by his wife of 2 years Kathryn (Keating) Leighton of Fitchburg, his daughter Virginia Brayman of Michigan, 3 grandchildren Taylor Brayman, Robin Lynn Brownfield, & Jamie Michelle Clutter.

Burial with Military Honors will be held on Monday August 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery 111 Glen Allen St. Winchendon, MA. There are no calling hours. Wright-Roy Funeral Home 109 West St. Leominster is directing arrangements.
