James R. Leighton 68 of Fitchburg died Saturday July 31, 2010 in his home after an illness. He was born on October 31, 1941 in San Diego; CA was the son of Russell and Mary V. (Miksch) Leighton. He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War; he earned the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Leighton was a member of the V.F.W. in Fitchburg. He had worked as a cook in California. He is survived by his wife of 2 years Kathryn (Keating) Leighton of Fitchburg, his daughter Virginia Brayman of Michigan, 3 grandchildren Taylor Brayman, Robin Lynn Brownfield, & Jamie Michelle Clutter.

Funeral Information

Burial with Military Honors will be held on Monday August 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery 111 Glen Allen St. Winchendon, MA. There are no calling hours. Wright-Roy Funeral Home 109 West St. Leominster is directing arrangements.
