Leominster - Elizabeth (Picard) Hunter, 68, of Leominster, died unexpectedly May 27, 2017, in UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born July 16, 1948, in Worcester, MA daughter of the late Edward and Edith (Rose) Picard. After graduating High School, Elizabeth received an Associates Degree for Mathematics, Business and Finance, from Quinsigamond College. She worked as a Unit Clerk at Memorial Hospital, Worcester, and as a Merchandise Control Assistance at Sears Co. Elizabeth was well loved by her family and friends. She was an advocate for Special Needs Education and was a volunteer for Autism Resouce Center and Special Olympics. She loved all animals, big and small.
Elizabeth is survived by her lifetime companion; Thomas M. Sandman, three sons; David Sandman and his wife Heather of Connecticut, Brian Sandman of Worcester, three daughters; Susan Ross of Pawtucket, RI, Becky Sandman of Cumberland, RI and Mollie Goodman, with whom she lived with, along with two brothers; Donald Picard of Florida, Steven Picard of Nantucket, MA, a sister; Dorothy Lee of North Brookfield, MA, 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister Phyllis Lemley, and a grandson Devin Thiffault.
Elizabeth's Funeral services have been RESECHEDULED, to be held Friday, June 2, 2017, from Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West St., Leominster, with a Service at 11:00 a.m. in Leominster United Methodist Church, 77 Hall St., Leominster. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held Thursday June 1, 2017, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
