Attorney Attilio “Tony” R. Antonioni 82, lifelong resident of Leominster died Monday, February 27, 2012 in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital after a short illness. He was born on June 19, 1929 in Leominster, MA, the son of Attilio D. and Ilda J. (Cattel) Antonioni. A graduate of the Leominster High School Class of 1947, Tony then attended The College of the Holy Cross where he graduated in 1951, moving on the Boston College Law School where he graduated with a Jurist Doctor Degree in 1957. Tony founded the Antonioni & Antonioni Law Firm in Leominster, ultimately sharing the practice with his son Robert until his death. Tony was also a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War era. In addition, he was the Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Leominster for over 20 years, as well as serving as an Assistant Attorney General under Robert Quinn. He was a member of the Worcester County Bar Association from 1957 to the present, receiving his 50 year pin from the Association in 2007. He was also a member of the Northern Worcester County Bar Association. Tony was very active in St. Anna Parish in Leominster where he served on the Parish Council and the Bishops Fund. He was a member of the Leominster Lodge of Elks #1237 and the Leominster Knights of Columbus Council #406. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Jacqueline M. (Gagné) Antonioni of Leominster, his son Attorney Robert A. Antonioni of Leominster, four daughters Marie D. Sunder of Winchester, MA, Dr. Janet L. Antonioni of Belmont, MA, Ellen F. Bernard-Myers of Leominster, Christine M. Antonioni-Hanson of Paxton, MA, , seven grandchildren Diana, Dennis, Tristan, Corey, Christian, Michael and Logan, his brother George D. Antonioni of Leominster, and two sisters Margaret G. Ford of Fitchburg, and Jeannie P. Antonioni of Andover, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son John G. Antonioni in 1999.

Funeral Information

The funeral will be held from the Wright-Roy Funeral Home 109 West St in Leominster, on Saturday March 3, 2012 with a funeral mass at 12:30 p.m. at St. Anna Church 199 Lancaster St. Leominster, Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Leo's Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be Friday evening March 2, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
