Raymond Duchesneau 87 of Leominster died Tuesday January 10, 2012 in Life Care Center of Leominster. He was born on December 27, 1924 in Leominster, MA was the son of Adelard and Ora (Fournier) Duchesneau. He was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII, where he attained the rank of Motor Machinist’s Mate Second Class, he was with the invasion force on D Day and also went to North Africa and Sicily. While in the Navy he received the Good Conduct Medal, American Area Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Letter of Commendation and the European African Medal with 3 Bronze Stars. Mr. Duchesneau worked as a supervisor for Tannery in Ayer, Ma. Then he worked at Decatone in Fitchburg, where he opened 2 plants for them in Lexington South Carolina and Monroe, North Carolina. He is survived by his son Kevin Duchesneau and his companion Linda Kiernan of Ashby, MA, a sister Lucille Comeau of Leominster, and a granddaughter Marina Duchesneau. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years Doris (Bourque) Duchesneau who died on January 23, 2009, a brother Norman Duchesneau, and sisters Yvonne Therrien, Adela “Della” Tredtin, Sr. Lucille Duchesneau, and Ida Grautski. Funeral InformationThe funeral will be held on Wednesday January 18, 2012 from the Wright-Roy Funeral Home 109 West St Leominster with a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church 168 Mechanic Street Leominster, Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Leominster. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday January 18, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Wright-Roy Funeral Home 109 West St Leominster. |
