Mary Gloria (Landry) Houle, 84, of Leominster died Thursday March 11, 2010 at Health Alliance Leominster Hospital surrounded by her family and close friends. She was born on October 15, 1925 in Leominster MA, the daughter of William J. and Margaret (Doucette) Landry. She worked in Sales for Paul's Hardware for 12 years, and in more recent years volunteered at the Leominster Senior Center. She was a member of St. Leo's Parish in Leominster, and the Leominster Senior Citizens. She loved to sing, play guitar, and entertain every chance she got. She was the director of The Dingbats comedy group at the Senior Center, a member of the Leominster Golden Agers & Booster Club, Eastwood Club Seniors, the Madlynaires (formerly the Chordelles Barber Shop Chorus), the Swingsters and the Uni-chords barbershop quartet. She is survived by her daughters Carol A. Allain of Leominster, Mary A. Liljengren of Greenville, N.H., Judith Mariano of Derry, N.H., a sister Geraldine Pinault of Fitchburg, her grandchildren Frank Mariano, Suzanne Houle, Nicholas Allain, David Liljengren, Katie McDonough, Robert McDonough and Heather Austin, who is expecting a child who will join great-grandchildren Alava Mariano, Alexander Allain and Evan Poremba, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Martin L. McDonough in 2007, her daughter Margaret J. Houle in 2008, her sisters Mary A. Lanza in 2000, Laverne M. Bernier in 2008, Rita A. Petriello, and her long time friend Olavi Maki

Funeral Information

Calling hours will be held on Saturday March 20, 2010 in the Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West St. in Leominster from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 AM. The funeral mass will follow at 11:00a.m.in St. Leo's Church, 128 Main St. in Leominster. The burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Leominster.
