Irene (Barassi) Bond-Warren

Leominster - Irene (Barassi) Bond-Warren, 96, of Leominster, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2017 at the Life Care Center of Leominster.  A lifelong resident of Leominster, she was born May 25, 1921 to Luigi and Annie (Marrama) Barassi, the oldest of 6 children.  She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Mary Jane Bond; sisters, Mary Gage and Helen Pelaccio; brothers, Livio "Lee" Barassi and Guido "Guy" Barassi and grandson, Richard "Richie" Bond II.  She is survived by a son, Richard Bond and his wife Mercia of Worcester, MA; daughter, Helen Bond and her partner Kathyrn Weese of  St. Paul, MN; brother Luigi "Lou" Barassi; sister-in-law, Nancy King Barassi; 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Over the years Irene was employed by the former R & M Manufacturing Co., as a stitcher along with her sister Mary, Stop & Shop in Fitchburg as a cashier and was frequently seen waitressing at McCann's Cafe and the BC Boston Confectionary in Leominster.  Before her retirement, she worked as a Quality Control Inspector & Silk Screen Operator at Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff at the Life Care Center of Leominster for their loving care and support during her stay. 

Funeral Information

According to Irene's wishes there will be no calling hours, but a Celebration of her Life which will be held on July 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Barassi family plot on Avenue H at Evergreen Cemetery, 357 Main Street, Leominster.  Guests are invited to meet directly at the cemetery.

Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West Street, Leominster is directing arrangements.
