Anna McCarthy Obituary

Leominster -  Anna Mary (DeLibero) McCarthy left this world on March 28, 2024 to spend Easter with the Lord. Anna died of natural causes after a period of declining health. Anna was the daughter of Pasquale and Mercy (DeCarolis) DeLibero. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Ann Risolo, brothers NIcholas and John DeLibero, her sister Assunta Testa and her ex husband Joseph Louis McCarthy.

Anna is survived by her son, Lance (Joanne) McCarthy, her granddaughters, Meghan (Jon) Henrie, Rebecca and Caitlin McCarthy and her great grandchildren, Julian and Evelyn Henrie. She also leaves three nieces, Cindi Peterson and her children Darci and Danny, Paula (Mike) Skehan and their son Bret and Darlene Corda and her daughter Lesley (Katie) Majeski.

Anna was born on December 22, 1929 in Leominster and was a 1948 graduate of Leominster High School and served on the Reunion Committee for 50 years. She was a 1949 graduate of Elizabeth Ollis Beauty Culture and practiced for a number of years for Henry Beauty Salons of Worcester and Fitchburg. Anna then went on to work as a secretary at former E.B. Kingman’s, Leominster Hospital and retired after a long career at Leominster City Hall. In retirement, Anna worked with Hospice Care and as a reliable lift to her driverless friends.

In her youth Anna enjoyed ice and roller skating and ballroom dancing. She was a dedicated mother, also serving as a Den Mother for her daughter’s brownie troop and rarely missed her children’s many sporting events. In her later years, she enjoyed watching her three granddaughters grow into the beautiful women that they have become and was in total awe of her great grandchildren. She enjoyed long walks with her beloved Pomeranian, Benji, as well as bird watching, especially red Cardinals. Anna was a lifelong parishioner of St. Leo’s Church.

The family would like to thank Sunrise Assisted Living and Sterling Village for their compassionate and heartfelt care.

Mother: we find comfort in knowing that you’re at peace with our Lord, Amen
