Edith D. (Hare) Martini

Leominster - Edith D. (Hare) Martini, 79, of Leominster, passed away Saturday, January 13th surrounded by family at the Highlands Nursing Home.  She was born on March 10, 1938, in Leominster, the daughter of the late Jesse and Edith Hare.  She was predeceased by her husband Emidio Martini, her ex-husband Ronald Jakola and her daughter Rhonda Richard.  Edie leaves behind her daughters; Sherry Potvin and Deborah Mellen; grandchildren Justin Richard, Cassi Richard, Jaclynn Fusaro, Jose Fusaro, Ross Potvin and Ryan Potvin; siblings; June Schofield, Jesse Hare and Sandy Luongo.

Edie was well-known in the community for her years working at the Gondola Restaurant, catering, and the Leominster Hospital Cafeteria.  Edie worked hard her entire life to provide for her daughters.  She loved to play Keno with her family, Bingo with her friends, sit on her porch with her dog Lily as she enjoyed the sunshine, her word search puzzles and Dunkin's coffee.  Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her loving family, her greatest accomplishment.

Her family sends their most sincere gratitude to the staff at the Manor on the Hill and The Highlands for their exceptional care and love they gave to Edie.

Edie's Funeral will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at 12:00 noon in Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West Street, Leominster.  Burial will follow in St. Leo's Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held from 10:00 - 12:00 noon, prior to the funeral Wednesday morning, in the funeral home.
