Harold C. Tredtin Jr.

Leominster - Harold Charles "Chuck" Tredtin, 93, passed away peacefully on December 17th, at Wachusett Manor in Gardner, MA.  He had been a recent resident of Manor on the Hill in Leominster, MA.

Chuck was born in Nashua, NH and grew up in Pepperell, MA.  He was a World War II Veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in the South Pacific.  In 1947, he married Adela Duchesneau.  They resided in Leominster, where they raised two sons, Richard and Donald.  They were married 45 years until the  passing of his wife in 1992.  

He is survived by his son Richard and his wife Marcia (Murphy) of Ft. Lauderdate, FLA, his son Donald and his wife Beverly (Rhodes) of Rutland, VT.  He leaves behind five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren as well.  He also leaves behind his long time companion, best friend and dancing partner, Mary Kalinen of Leominster, MA.

Chuck was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.  He was a longtime member of the Leominster Sportsmans Club. His other favorite activities were gardening, dancing and joke telling.  He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Leominster, until his retirement 31 years ago.

Chuck will be remembered for his kindness, infectious smile and his desire to 'live every day to the fullest''.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 168 Mechanic Street, Leominster.  A calling hour will be held Thursday morning, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m,. prior to the funeral, in Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West St., Leominster, MA.  Burial with military honors will take place in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster.
