Born in Weymouth, MA, John was a born leader. As a Boy Scout he earned 1st Class, 2nd class and Life merits. At age 14, he was awarded the Scouts' highest honor, 'Ad Altare Dei'. He attended St. John's in Shrewsbury before transferring and graduating from Algonquin Regional High School in 1966. John met his high school sweetheart in his senior year and married her February 10, 1968. After serving in the Navy, John and Janis built their family in Framingham, MA, first with his son Michael Christopher and then a daughter, Jennifer Marie. They lived in Framingham surrounded by friends and family most of their married life. As a former Chef and Caterer, he was an avid cook whether cooking at Hugo's in Cohasset or cooking for friends and family in his back yard in Cotuit. He loved being outdoors; fishing, clamming on the Cape, taking his Boston Whaler out on the ocean, playing tennis, street hockey, landscaping, golfing or travelling across the globe. In 1993 travelling with his wife on their 25th Wedding Anniversary, he was inducted as a Chevalier into the Legion of Honor in the Cellars of Perrier Jouet in  Paris, one of his proudest moments; played the links in Ireland, tasted wines and beers in Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy. He studied at Manchester Community College in Connecticut. Professionally, he was a leading salesman for Madison Cable in Worcester before starting his own company, Shamrock Sales. In 2001, he retired as Northeast Regional Sales Manager for Sumitomo Electric Interconnect Product.

With all his accomplishments earned over his 69 years, he was most proud of his family. He loved his grandchildren and leaves an indelible legacy in each one of his kids and grandchildren.
