Leominster - Joseph A. Corliss, 76, of Leominster, died May 9, 2018, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after an illness. He was born March 16, 1942, in Leominster, son of the late Wayne A. and Louise (Hurtubise) Corliss. He served in the Army National Guard. He worked for the Worcester County Sherriff's Department for several years, Holden Sand & Gravel and also for Holman Construction. He was a one term Ward 2 City Councilor for the City of Leominster, in the 1980's. Joe was also a crossing guard at St. Leo's School, Leominster, for many years. He was also a frequent patron at Dippin Donuts on Central Street in Leominster.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Judith (Radicioni) Corliss of Leominster; one son, David Corliss of Leominster and his wife Maria, two daughters; Stephanie Corliss of Leominster, and Debbie Cuddahy and her husband Thomas of Lunenburg, two sisters; Patricia Caron of Leominster, Sandra Copeland of Florida, half-brother; Robert Hurtubise of New Hampshire and a grandchild; Niko Corliss. He was predeceased by a brother George Corliss in 2017.
His funeral will be held from Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West St., Leominster, on Tuesday May 15, 2018 with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anna's Church, 199 Lancaster Street, Leominster at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Leo's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday, May 14th, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
