Leominster - Leona M. (Gallup) Guercio, 92, of Leominster, died January 4, 2018, in Life Care Center of Leominster. She was born July 19, 1925, in Wolcott, VT, daughter of the late Dennis and Grace (Horner) Gallup. She was educated in the Vermont school system. She lived in Fitchburg for many years before moving to Leominster, MA. Leona had been employed at Howard Johnsons and K Mart for many years until her retirement. Leona was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church. In addition to her parents, Leona was predeceased by her husband Patrick in 1980, her brother Myron Gallup and sister Hallie Perry. Leona cherished spending quality time with family, especially her summer trips to Vermont. She always had a great love of animals.
Leona is survived by three sons; Joseph D. Guercio and his wife Kathy, of Sterling, James P. Guercio and his wife Kristen of Bellingham, Paul Guercio and his wife Jane of Leominster, two daughters; Patricia Davis and her husband Thomas of Nashua, NH and Dianne R. desBouvrie and her husband Kenneth of Leominster, one sister; Marjorie Sevigney of South Burlington, VT and twelve grandchildren; Tyler desBouvrie, Aidan desBouvrie, Paul Guercio Jr., Michael Guercio, Thomas J. Davis, Todd A. Davis, Trent J. Davis, Timothy P. Davis, Joshua Guercio, Jennifer Day, Steven J. Guercio, Mark P. Guercio and Matthew J. Ryll, along with seven great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018, in St. Cecilia's Church, 168 Mechanic St., Leominster, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Fitchburg, at a later date. A Calling Hour will be held from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 20th, in the funeral home, prior to the funeral.
