Mary J. (Majewski) Dunn

September 14, 1936 ~ October 8, 2017 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Leominster - Mary J. (Majewski) Dunn passed away into the arms of the Lord with her family by her side on October 8, at the age of 81.  Mary is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bernard "Barney" Dunn; two sons,Thomas E. Dunn and his wife Joanne of Leominster,  and James J. Dunn and his wife Shannon of Westminster; her six grandchildren, Kelsey, Olivia, Emma, Alexandra, Sam and Brady; One sister, Nancy Rogers and her husband Tony of Ft. Myers, FL;two brothers, Robert Majewski and his wife Dianne of York Maine, and Paul Majewski and his wife Heather of Shrewsbury; one brother-in-law, Frank Rogers of Naples, FL; sister-in-law Phyllis Dunn of Leominster; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Joseph Majewski, mother Mary Majewski, and her sister and best friend Carol Rogers.

She was born on September 14, 1936 in Worcester, MA.  She grew up in Holden, MA and attended Wachusett Regional High School.  After high school she developed her organizational and clerical skills at secretarial school.  She worked at Morgan Construction for 12 years and then spent 30 years as an executive assistant within the plastics industry.  This included 26 years at Tucker Housewares, where she developed many close friendships.  She ended her working career at Johnny Appleseed School in the front office to keep her eye on her grandchildren.

In her early days she enjoyed horseback riding and going dancing with her friends.  As her family grew, she loved family cookouts, holiday gatherings and summers at York Beach.  Undoubtedly, her true passion was sharing time with family.  She especially adored her grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Babci" (Polish Grammy).  She treasured every moment with them and could always make an ordinary visit into something extra-special.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious giggle that would leave everyone laughing along with her.

In her time at home she enjoyed a challenging jigsaw puzzle, reality TV shows, a good book or the Sox game.  The birds in her neighborhood were always well fed, and the flowers in her garden were always a sight to be seen.  She was an incredible chef that regularly worked magic in her little kitchen for our impromptu family gatherings.  When it was time to leave she would say "Idz' do domu spac" which in polish means it was time to "Go home and go to bed!"

Mary was a member of St. Leo's Parish but was a regular visitor of prayer groups, functions and masses at all of the Leominster Parishes.  She was a faith filled, kind, selfless person.  She put others first and never wanted the spotlight, but always made her presence known with her loving gestures.  Mary left a wonderful legacy of memories and will be deeply missed.

The family would like to thank Dr. Eric Cotter & Dr. Doreen Brettler for their loving care and support.
