Richard Lanza Obituary

Fitchburg - Richard P. Lanza, 77, of Fitchburg, died April 21, 2019, at home, with his family by his side.   He was born in Leominster, September 27, 1941, son of the late Domenico and Irene M. (Gaw) Lanza.  Richard was a graduate of Leominster High School.   He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, attaining rank of SP4 (T).  He received the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge.  Richard worked as  a mechanic for DuPont Co. and the plastics industry.  He was a member of the Franco American Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Richard is survived by one daughter; Dawn M. Lanza of Fitchburg, MA,  three sons; Anthony Lanza of California, Richard Lanza of  Sterling, MA and Donald Lanza of Lancaster, MA,  two sisters; Irene "Renee" Holman of Lunenburg, MA, Shirley Lanza of Leominster, and grandchildren; Kyler Escudero, Savannah Escudero, Antonia Lanza, Erica Lanza, Madison Lanza and Cody Lanza.  He was predeceased by his wife Denise J. (Brezousky) Lanza in 2000, his brother; Donald "Buddie" Lanza, and two sisters; Barbara Basile and Gloria Lapierre.

Funeral arrangements under the directions of Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West Street, Leominster, are private.
