ANNE L. MARASA
LOWELL – Anne L. Marasa, 59, died on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, surrounded by her family after a battle with breast cancer. Anne was born on May 18, 1965, to Beverly (LaPierre) and Robert Lemieux of Leominster and was the youngest of five children. She graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in Fitchburg in 1983 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Salem State University in 1987. Anne’s light and warmth were apparent to those around her and best showed her love through acts of kindness and providing for the people she loved.
Anne loved Ralph, her husband of nearly 36 years. The two of them treasured traveling, especially to the beaches of Maine, and were frequently drawn to their favorite place – Nubble Point in York. Anne and Ralph loved staying at the York Harbor Inn and looked forward to dinner at their favorite restaurant – Fox’s Lobster House. The two of them were also avid Boston sports fans. Anne and Ralph could always be counted on to sit side-by-side in the living room to cheer on the Patriots, the Red Sox, the Bruins, and the Celtics. Additionally, Anne and Ralph also found joy and fulfillment in their shared faith. Both were members of St. Francis of Assisi in Dracut and frequently attended Saturday evening Mass.
Anne also adored her two sons – Daniel and Andrew, regularly doting on them through baked goods, care packages, and words of support. Her love for her sons was apparent to everyone around her and she often boasted about their accomplishments. Daniel and Andrew absolutely cherished their mom and looked forward to coming home to her famous banana bread. Some of their fondest memories of their mother stemmed from how she would selflessly and tirelessly work to celebrate their accomplishments, from their graduations, weddings, and her grandson’s baby shower. Her kindness and pride also extended to her daughters-in-law, Samantha and Leah, and was so proud that her sons had found smart and caring partners who helped make them into the men she always knew them to be.
Anne enjoyed spending time with her “third son” Jameson – her Chocolate Lab and faithful companion. Her sons joked that Jameson ate better than the rest of the family, as her puppy was always spoiled with homemade dog food with premium beef bones, fresh duck feet, and cod skins as treats. Anne and Jameson were inseparable. The two of them could often be found hiking some of the best walking trails in the area, such as Great Brook Farm State Park, the Cranberry Bog Reservation, and Salisbury Beach. Anne was a generous and loving soul and will be missed by her many friends and family members.
In addition to her beloved husband of almost 36 years, Ralph Marasa, Anne leaves behind two sons, Daniel Marasa and his wife, Samantha, and Andrew Marasa and his wife, Leah, one grandson, Luca John Marasa; her mother, Beverly (LaPierre) Lemieux; her mother-in-law, Margaret (Saia) Marasa, her two sisters, Louise Myer and her husband, Douglas, of Leominster, and Susan St. Louis and her husband, Leo, of Fitchburg; her two sisters-in-law, Marie (Marasa) Kelley of Lexington, and Roseanne (Marasa) Bonardi of Tewksbury; her brother-in-law, Ronald Marasa, five nephews, Steven Myer of Maine, Thomas Myer of Florida, Mark Swaine of Fitchburg, Matthew Swaine of Leominster, and Nicholas Kelley of Lexington; ten nieces, Christina Rocheleau, Heather Swaine, Laurissa Simms, and Kathryn (Myer) Robbins, all of Leominster, Danielle St. Louis of New York, Jaclyn St. Louis of Arlington, Marissa Kelley, and
Katelyn Kelley, both of Lexington, Gianna Bonardi and Christina Bonardi, both of Tewksbury; and 18 great nieces and nephews.
Anne is predeceased by her father, Robert Lemieux (2017); her father-in-law, Ralph Marasa (2020), her brother, James Lemieux (2008); her sister, Carol (Lemieux) Swaine (2013); and her brother-in-law, Bertram Swaine (2024).
