Leominster - Bernard A. Dignard, 97, of Spring Hill, Florida formerly of Leominster, MA, died November 25, 2022 in Spring Hill, Fl, after a brief illness. He was born in Leominster, son of the late Majoric (Ponzi) and Regina (Richard) Dignard. Mr. Dignard was a graduate of Leominster Saxton Trade High School. He served in the US Navy from 1943 until 1946, attaining rank of E-6. Bernard was a Signalman on the USS Hornet. Bernard had worked at Standard Tool and Die for many years as a mold maker, then as an engineer at USM Bailey's division in Salisbury. He owned and operated Mapco Tool and Die for 10 years.
He was a member of Franco American War Veterans, Leominster and St. Cecilia's Parish, in Leominster. He enjoyed wood carving, traveling with Andi to places such as Australia on a container ship, and as snowbirds between 1980 and 1991, at which time they permanently moved to Florida.
He is survived by one son; Kenneth Dignard and his wife Rose of Leominster, one daughter; Anita Hall and her husband Stephen of Colorado Springs, CO, one sister; Theresa Culliton of CT, along with three grandchildren; Jason Hall, Carrie Hall and Laura Cavanagh and five great grandchildren; Lindsey Cavanagh, Leah Cavanagh, Kaio Hall, Josefine Hall and Madeline Hall.
Bernard was predeceased by his first wife Janet (Holman) Dignard in 1980 and his second wife Andi (Dahlhaus) Dignard in 2019, and his daughter Donna Behring. Brothers Leonard "Pete", Roger, Richard "Ricky" and sisters Anita, Doris and Eileen

Bernard's funeral will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023, from Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West Street, Leominster, MA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 168 Mechanic Street, Leominster, MA. Burial with Military honors will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. A Calling hour will be held Saturday, January 28th from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
