Catherine A (Bergeron) Eriksson

Leominster - Catherine “Cathy” Ann (Bergeron) Eriksson, 74, lifelong resident of Leominster, MA, passed away peacefully in her home on June 14, 2023, with her family by her side, after bravely living through more than four years of cancer treatment.

Cathy was born in Leominster on May 9, 1949, the third child of the late May Rose (Lamoureux) and Alfred Bergeron. She graduated from Leominster High School in 1968. After getting married in 1971 and having her daughters, she earned her Associates Degree at Mount Wachusett Community College in 1991. 

Cathy is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Robert Eriksson; her daughter, Julie Eriksson Pera, and husband, Christopher Pera; her daughter, Jennifer Eriksson, and partner, Jade Vail; her grandchildren Caleb, Kaarina and Josiah Pera; her brother Robert Bergeron and sister Virginia Poulin, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Cathy was a quiet force—only those closest to her could really appreciate just how much she did for her family and friends whom she loved dearly, for acquaintances, and even for many she would never meet. She had a deep faith and was actively involved in her beloved church community at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church. Across her lifetime, she contributed many hours of volunteer work, including in the schools where her daughters attended or worked. Cathy also loved to create--knitting many prayer shawls and challenging herself to make beautiful quilts as gifts to commemorate special events. 

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 26, 2023, at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church, 750 Union Street, Leominster,  with a reception to follow at the Leominster Veterans Memorial Center, 100 West Street, Leominster.  Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 25th from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. in Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc. 109 West Street, Leominster. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church, 750 Union Street, Leominster, MA 01453. A private service for interment of the ashes will be held at a later date at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon MA.
