David Paul Christian

Shutesbury - David Paul Christian, 58, of Shutesbury, MA passed away peacefully on December 24, 2020, at home surrounded by his loved ones.  David was born September 21, 1962, in Leominster, MA, son of the late Frank and Laura (Conner) Christian.

Dave was born and raised in Leominster, MA.  He attended Leominster High School and later on attended Mount Wachusett Community College, where he received his certificate in Law Enforcement.  Dave worked for 25 years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Correctional Facilities.  During his time there he also worked tirelessly for many years as the Chief Union Steward for a number of different facilities.

Dave enjoyed the outdoors.  He loved fishing, boating, sitting by a fire at night listening to music and watching football.  He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.  Dave will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

David is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Christian, Rebecca's four daughters; Joanna Phillips of Shelburne, MA, Alyssa Phillips of Athol, MA, Abby and Aly both of Shutesbury, MA.  He is also survived by his three children; Mandy Barreiro and her husband, Eric of Abilene, TX, Lena Christian of Athol, MA  and David P. Christian Jr., from Paso Robles, CA.  He leaves behind three grandchildren; Hannah, Joshua and Adriane and one great grandson, Atticus.   He also leaves behind his brothers; Arthur (Buddy) Richard of Maine, Warren Richard of South Carolina, Walter Richard of Oregon and John Richard of Massachusetts, and his sisters; Sandra Richard-Turgeon of Texas, Lori-Anne Kett of Massachusetts and Marilyn Christian of Texas, as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his sister, Norma McFadden.

Dave and his wife would like to thank Dr. Joseph Jacobson and his team at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for their utmost care and guidance.
