David F. Pellecchia

Leominster - David F. Pellecchia, 81, of Leominster, died February 21, 2024 in Apple Valley Nursing Home, Ayer, MA.  He was born May 27, 1942, in Leominster, son of the late Joseph and Ethel I. (Hill) Pellecchia. David served in the US Army for six years. He had worked for family for many years in the masonry/concrete business. He then worked at Jeffrey Philbin fuel.  He would read every night to teach himself about how to become a service technician.  He became a propane tech and worked at Ostermann Propane for over 20 years.  David was respected as President of the Leominster Sportman's Association for a time and was very involved in the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 14. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow and also a Scout Master for years.   He enjoyed gardening and passed that interest along to his kids and grandkids.  He had a friendly competition with his neighbor as to who would get the first Red Tomato of the season.

David is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Norma (Flagler) Pellecchia, his children; Laura Carter and her husband Dennis, Kenneth Pellecchia and his wife Laurie, Adam Pellecchia and his wife Kelly, his grandchildren; Danielle Dowd and her husband Jay, Erik Carter, Andrew Carter, Emily Campbell and her husband Shawn, Joshua Pellecchia, David Pellecchia, Jacob Pellecchia, Gabriel Pellecchia, Jordan Pellecchia and Alex Boulet, a great grandchild; Joseph Dowd V.  He also leaves his siblings; Frances George, Richard Pellecchia and his late wife Terri, Vincent Pellecchia and his wife Carol, Stephen Pellecchia and Kathy, Maria Richardson and her husband Gary, Cynthia LaFleur and her husband Roger, Stacy Chabot (godson), Tina Carlson and Steven Chabot.

David was predeceased by his father, Joseph "Joe" Pellecchia, and stepmother, Theresa (LaPointe) Pellecchia, who lovingly brought him up and was considered as his mother, brothers; Phillip Pellecchia and Robert "Bobby" Pellecchia and sisters; Lelaine Sicard and Jennifer Pellecchia.

The family would like to recognize Apple Valley Center of Ayer, where David received excellent care.

David's Funeral will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West Street, Leominster, MA.  Burial will follow in St. Leo's Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 28th, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
