Leominster - Donald E. Carter, 88, of Leominster, died peacefully October 4, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 19, 1934, in Leominster, son of the late Edward and Blanche (Cote) Carter. He was a graduate of Leominster High School Class of 1952. He served in the Naval Air Reserve for 8 years. Mr. Carter was a tool and die maker and later owned DEC Associates, molding plastics. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Parish, Knights of Columbus #406, Leominster, was very active as a Boy Scout Leader and Trainer for over 60 years, receiving several awards. He was an active member of St. Cecilia's Parish assisting with the Annual Fairs and the Bishop's Fund.
Donald is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan (LeBlanc) Carter of Leominster, four sons; David Carter and his wife Martha, Daniel Carter, Dennis Carter and his wife Laura, Dean Carter and his wife Shelley, one daughter; Donna and her husband Horatio Easton, one sister; Carol Palmer and her husband Clayton of Worcester, twelve grandchildren; Michael Carter, Nicholas Carter, Jessica Carter, Danielle Carter, Erik Carter, Andrew Carter, Sarah Carter, Matthew Carter, Jennifer Easton, Charles Easton, Sarah F. Easton, and Michelle Carter along with great grandchildren; Taylor, Tyler, Shelton and Joseph. He was predeceased by his daughter Denise Carter in 2022.
Donald's funeral will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022 from Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc. 109 West Street, Leominster, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 168 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 12th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
