Leominster - Emile J. Maillet, 70, of Leominster, passed away September 28, 2018, in HealthAlliance Hospital Leominster. He was born October 2, 1947, in St. Norbert, NB, Canada, son of the late Jean and Irene (Hasselmann) Maillet. Mr. Maillet worked as a framing carpenter for the Local Union 475. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Parish, the Leominster Franco American Veterans, Leominster Sportmen's Club, and South Fitchburg Hunting & Fishing Club. Emile enjoyed life, especially fishing, gardening, working around the house, family gatherings and playing Scat.His family was the most important part of his life especially his granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Claudette M. (LeBlanc) Maillet, of Leominster, one son; Kevin Maillet and his wife Anna of Princeton, MA, and their daughter (granddaughter) Haylie Maillet, one daughter; Carol Maillet of Fitchburg, two brothers; Roger Maillet and his wife Delia of Buctouche, NB, Canada, and Gerald Maillet and his wife Rosa of St. Antoine, NB, Canada, six sisters; Sister Yvonnice Maillet of Dieppe, NB, Canada, Doris Caisse and her husband Fidele of Tewksbury, MA, Louise McGraw of Shediac, NB, Canada, Florence LeBlanc and her husband Romeo of Methuen, MA, Georgina Cormier and her husband Ovila of St. Antoine, NB, Canada and Rita Bastarache of Maine, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Aurele Maillet.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 168 Mechanic St., Leominster. There are no calling hours.
