Jane Mobley Obituary

Leominster - Jane E. (Carr) Mobley, died January 3, 2023, at home with her family by her side.  She was born April 9, 1941, in Fitchburg, MA, daughter of the late Douglass and Mary (Sullivan) Carr.  Jane was a graduate of Saint Bernard’s Catholic High School, and continued her education, graduating as an LPN from Leominster Nursing School.  She had worked at Salisbury Nursing Home in Shrewsbury, prior to her retirement.  She was a member of St. Anthony's Parish, Fitchburg.

Jane is survived by her four children; Keith Mobley of Leominster,  Mary Jane Lanza and her husband Mark of Leominster, Susan Young and her husband Brent of Winchendon, and Douglass Mobley and his wife Melanie of Leominster,  and one sister Susan Carr-Madonia of Hull, Massachusetts.  She also leaves her twelve grandchildren; Kristopher Mobley, Megan Mobley, Mackenzie Mobley, Bridget Mobley,  Nicholas Lanza, Brittany Barnaby, Stephen Lanza, Katie Conner, Kayla Mobley, Devan Mobley. Cassidy Mobley and Emma Mobley, and her eight great-grandchildren; Danny Boudreau, Molly Maillet, Casey Phillips, Ayden Melendez, Cole Barnaby, Ayla Barnaby, Braxton Lanza, and Isabella Mobley, along with her extended family  Mark and Wanda Matthews and their children Monae and Zariyah Matthews.

She was predeceased by her husband Roy H. Mobley.

Jane was the family caregiver and sacrificed many years of her life making sure her family's needs were met, including lovingly taking care of her mother and husband till their last days in their family home. She had a great love for animals and had many of them over the years.  It wasn't uncommon to visit Jane and find her cuddling with her toy Pomeranian, Chewy, that she cared for so deeply.

Jane was a New England sports enthusiast.  She enjoyed watching her beloved Red Sox, with Ted Williams being her all- time favorite player.   She also enjoyed watching Patriots football whether they win or loose. However, when it came to sports, nothing gave her more enjoyment than watching her children or grand-children play. There was no greater supporter or fan.
