Jane Flannagan Obituary

Leominster- Jane Ida (VivoAmore) Flannagan, 77 passed away peacefully in her home on December 30, 2021.  Jane was born in Leominster on February 11, 1944 to the late Frank and Mary (Julian) Vivo Amore.  Jane graduated from Leominster High and grew up an adoptive member of the Leominster High Cheerleading Squad until she was old enough to be captain herself.  Jane enjoyed cheerleading and spent her high school days laughing, enjoying her friends, and spending time with her boyfriend of many years, Richard Flannagan.  On May 20, 1967, Dick and Jane got married and spent the rest of their lives creating beautiful memories.  Jane was a banker her entire professional career and has been known to express her love for banking.  When her children were young she would be found enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Spectacle Pond in Lancaster, MA.  The family would vacation there each summer.  Winters were as much fun with the Flannagan Family;  many years were spent snow skiing at Loon Mountain in New Hampshire and Mount Snow in Vermont.  Extended family would join the ski trips and Jane would get to enjoy the slopes alongside family.  The family opened a restaurant in 1994 and Jane spent a lot of her time supporting her children.  She had a very creative side to her personality and would decorate the restaurant each holiday, keeping it very festive.  The beautiful lights and bows of December became the lights and hearts of Valentine’s Day, and soon became the lights and shamrocks of St. Patrick’s Day.  Jane never took a holiday off, and her talents were enjoyed by all.  Jane also found time to give back to the community volunteering with The Arc, in Fitchburg,  The United Way and her family parish Our Lady of The Lake.

Jane is survived by her husband, Richard Flannagan, and their three children;   Sean P Flannagan, his children Brody and Vayda,  Colleen M Harper, her husband Stephen and their two children, Oliva-Jane and Uilleam, and  Kathleen M Flannagan. She also leaves her sister Phyllis Gallant.  She is preceded by her sister Ruth Crossman and brother Frank Vivo Amore II.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022, 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Wright Roy Funeral Home, Inc.  109 West Street, Leominster.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 6, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of The Lake Church, 1400 Main St.,  Leominster MA, Father Timothy Brewer presiding.  Burial will follow in St. Leo’s Cemetery, Leominster immediately following the Mass.  Refreshments will be served at Our Lady of The Lake Parish hall after burial.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Arc, 564 Main Street,  Fitchburg, MA 01420.
