Jeanne E (Daigle) Richard

Jeanne E. (Daigle) Richard 85, of Leominster, MA died peacefully Saturday, April 5, 2025 in Sterling Village rehab, after a period of declining health. She was born on September 23, 1939 in Acadieville, New Brunswick, Canada, was the daughter of the late Nazaire and Nora (Williams) Daigle. 

Jeanne worked as a kitchen aide at the Nancy Patch House and then as a cashier at CVS. She was a 60 year parishioner at St. Cecilia's Church, a member of the Ladies of St. Anne, she volunteered making poutines for the church fair. 

Jeanne was the caregiver for her husband Adelard until his death in 2014. Family was very important to her, loving grandmother, attending baseball games, and dance recitals.  Her hobbies were crocheting, The Royal Family, and watching the Hallmark Channel. She was a wonderful baker and enjoyed the holidays, playing cards and cribbage.  Jeanne had a kind heart and a wonderful spirit that everyone loved once they met her.  The proudest moment was when she was able to call herself Memere.  She adored her grandchildren and her family very much.  Anyone that met her knew that she was a very special woman.  

She is survived by her daughter Annette Bergeron son-in-law Richard of Leominster,  two sons, Donald Richard of Gardner and David Richard daughter-in-law Monica of Florida, son-in-law Robert Cannon of Orange,  her two grandchildren, Nicholas Bergeron and Lindsey Bergeron both of Leominster, her two sisters Florine (Eugene) Caissie of Acadie Siding NB, Canada and Ronalda Daigle (Mark) of Moncton NB, Canada. Sister-in-laws Anna Cormier of Gardner, Marie (Yvon) LeBlanc of Templeton, Germaine Daigle of Canada.   Jeanne was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Adelard J. Richard, and her daughter Rita Cannon.  

Jeanne received wonderful care at Leominster Hospital ER, Foster Wing and Med Surg Floors and her final days at Sterling Village Rehab unit. 

Jeanne's funeral will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 from the Wright-Roy Funeral Home 109 West St Leominster, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Cecilia's Church 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster.  Calling hours will be held from 9:00 am family, 9:30 to 10:30 public in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.
