Joan I. (Wallace) Conner

Templeton - Joan I. (Wallace) Conner, 88, of Templeton, MA, died April 27, 2020, in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, MA.  She was born September 3, 1931, in Leominster, daughter of the late Ottie E. and Cora Belle (Demazure) Wallace.  Joan was a graduate of Leominster High School, Class of 1949.

She was born and raised in Leominster, MA and moved to Templeton in 1963.  She spent her last two years at Wachusett Manor in Gardner, MA.

She started out working as a bookkeeper for her father when he owned his wood shop.  She was then a stay-at-home mom until she reentered the workforce in 1976 doing various jobs.  She was active in helping her husband during his years as a leader for Boy Scouts Troop 30 of Templeton.   She enjoyed baking for all of the campouts.

Joan enjoyed fishing, gardening, the outdoors and her dogs.  She was a great cook and baker.  Her greatest enjoyment came from her children and grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her family and all those that knew her.

Joan is survived by four children; Richard H. Conner Jr. and wife Julie of Simi Valley, CA, Katherine J. Goldthwaite and her husband Alan of Guthrie, OK, Michael E. Conner and wife Diane of Templeton, MA, Susan P. Horvath and husband Ken of Hubbardston, MA, along with 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; Richard H. Conner Sr., son, Wayne Patrick Conner, grandson, Joshua Conner, sister Beth (Dolly) Conner and brother, Walter Wallace.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, August 14th, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, 357 Main St., Leominster, MA 01453.  All are welcome to attend.
