John Aubin Obituary

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Revelation 21:4

John Francis “Johnny” Aubin, 72, passed away peacefully in his home in Leominster, MA, surrounded by his beloved wife Diane Aubin and closest family members on April 19, 2025. He was born on March 4, 1953, in Clinton MA, to Joseph Aubin and Thelma Aubin Cummings. John lived a life marked by quiet strength, a deep love for his family and friends, and a faith that guided him throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving wife Diane Aubin; children, Keith Aubin (Lisa) and Christina Buchanan (Jesse); stepchildren, Dean Larkin Jr. and Danielle Kefeli (Ant); grandchildren, Brooke, Madyson, Kaden, Jacob, Caelah, Atlas, and Ada. He predeceases his birth mother Thelma Aubin Cummings; siblings, Jane Trudeau, Joseph Aubin, Roger Aubin, Deborah Aubin, Susan Barrett, Barry Aubin, Donna DeCarolis, Gregg Aubin, and their spouses; along with many of his beloved nieces and nephews.

John found joy in the simple yet meaningful moments of life. He cherished time he had with his children and beloved grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter, warmth, and togetherness. His humor and smile lifted everyone’s spirits, bringing joy around him. Whether gathered around the kitchen table for a home-cooked meal, sharing stories about his love for classic cars, or just reminiscing on the back porch, John’s home was always open—a place where love was served alongside home-cooked meals and heartfelt conversation.

A man of few words and quiet wisdom, John had a unique way of connecting with friends and family. His words often carried the weight of scripture and the warmth of encouragement. He was known to remind those he cared for to “run toward the roar,” urging them not to fear what lay ahead but to trust in what God had in store. His presence was a source of comfort—always ready with a listening ear or a shoulder to lean on.

Cooking and entertaining were among John’s greatest pleasures. He delighted in preparing meals for family and friends, using food to bring people together. His gatherings were more than just events—they were celebrations of those he loved and enjoyed sharing life with. Those who knew him will remember the joy of being welcomed into his home and heart.

He believed in Jesus Christ and the principles of the Bible as he often reflected on scripture found in John 13:34-35. John’s reminders to love one another as Christ loved us continue to resonate to today. Christianity shaped how he loved others as he offered support to so many through various seasons of life. His legacy is one of compassion, resilience, and love over the years.
