Joseph Beaudoin Obituary

Leominster - Joseph Arthur (Max) Beaudoin of Leominster, MA, age 85, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025 surrounded by his beloved family.  He was born June 11, 1940 in Leominster.  Max graduated from Notre Dame High School and later in life from Mt. Wachusett Community College with an Associate's Degree in Business.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of nearly 65 years, Claire (Berube) Beaudoin.  Their commitment to one another stood firmly in the belief they lived by, "Love is a Decision" made every day for the sake of relationship.  This message became endearing to their caregivers and all who experienced their love.  Max's positivity extended to one of his favorite comments when asked how he was doing.  His quick reply was "If I were doing any better, I'd have to be two people".

He was a caring role model for his four children and their spouses;  Keith and Darlene (Gauvin) Beaudoin, Brian and Mary beth (Baker) Beaudoin, Lori Beaudoin and Deb Larson, and Eric and Jessica (Tata) Beaudoin.  In addition, he had nine grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.  Max is also survived by his four siblings; Ronald and Mary (DeMego) Beaudoin, Jane (Beaudoin) Keough, David and Donna (Girard) Beaudoin and Karen (Beaudoin) Hvizda and Kenneth Duratti.  He is predeceased by his parents, Adrien and Laura (Ouellette) Beaudoin and his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Keough and David Hvizda.  Max had a love of life and family that was immeasurable.

As a young man, Max was an active Boy Scout earning several awards and badges which qualified him to attend the International Boy Scout Jamboree in CA.  He continued to display leadership qualities, community service engagement and a positive outlook on life as he journeyed into adulthood.  Max was a persistent problem-solver and self-motivated achiever with grit beyond measure.  He began as an apprentice to his Dad working as a lawnmower/small engine repair technician.  Following this, he became a partner in A & G Rental, later becoming the owner/operator of Taylor Rental in Leominster for 30 years.  It became a successful family-operated business and upon retirement, his daughter, Lori, took over its operation and ownership and enhanced its offerings.  His legacy lives on in the continued success of the business today.  He was also instrumental in the success of each of his son's businesses.

Max's interest and hobbies defined who he was.  As a man of strong faith, he was an active parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. Cecilia's Church, Leominster, MA.  He was a CCD teacher inspiring teens for over 20 years, and he and his wife were Circle Leaders in the Worldwide Marriage Encounter enrichment program for many years.  His creativity and wisdom was expressed through his many writings and his woodworking and metal sculpture projects, and when something was broken, he would find a way to not only repair it, but would improve upon it.  His greatest joy was spending time in his workshop creating thoughtful and loving gifts for family and friends.  He was also an avid sailor and as a scuba diver, once played chess under the ice for 25 minutes as a part of a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

A wake will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West Street, Leominster, MA from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.  The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at St. Cecilia's Church, 170 Mechanic Street, Leominster at 12:00 noon.
