Sterling - Joseph D. Guercio, 74, of Sterling, MA, passed away in HealthAlliance Clinton Hospital, Clinton, on May 22, 2025. He was born July 30, 1950, in Fitchburg, MA, son of the late Patrick and Leona (Gallup) Guercio. He had served in the US Air Force, April 1971 through April 1975 achieving rank of Sergeant. Mr. Guercio worked as the President of Colonial Cooperative Bank in Gardner until his retirement. He loved going to Florida and Maine, cheering on the Patriots and Celtics, and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy E. (Hodgkins) Guercio, of Sterling, one son; Joshua Guercio and his partner Ronald Gould of Fitchburg, one daughter; Jennifer Day and her husband Andrew of Sterling, two brothers; Paul Guercio of Florida and James Guercio of Gardner, MA, one sister; Dianne Desboubries of Leominster along his two grandchildren; Ruby Day and Felix Day. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Joseph's funeral will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West St., Leominster, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Cecilia's Church, 168 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA, at 1:00 pm. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
