Lancaster - Joseph Gerard LeBlanc, 80, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at his home on March 21, 2022. He was born February 11, 1942, in Bouctouche, New Brunswick, Canada, son of the late Joseph Ovila LeBlanc and Rita (Belliveau) LeBlanc. While growing up in Canada, Gerard played Semi-Professional ice hockey. After moving to Leominster, MA, he began racing motorcycles professionally. Gerard also spent much time enjoying the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He had a successful career as a Carpenter/Roofer, including running his own reputable roofing business.
Gerard is survived by his long time partner Charlotte Damon, one son; Donald LeBlanc and his wife, Kelsey of Lunenburg, MA, one daughter; Brenda Dubiel and her husband, Aaron of Michigan, two sisters; Marie Freda of Leominster, MA and Florence O'Malley of Clinton, MA, three grandchildren; Tyler and Izabella LeBlanc and Zeke Dubiel, and two great grandchildren; Jameson and Quinn LeBlanc.
He was predeceased by his parents, and his brother Normand J.E. LeBlanc, who passed away the same day he did, March 21, 2022, brother J. Paul LeBlanc, step sister Geraldine Brideau and step-mother Irene (Bedard) LeBlanc.
A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Cecilia's Church, 168 Mechanic Street, Leominster, on Friday April 22, 2022 at 10:00am. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
