Joyce A. (Cahill) LaFrenier

Fitchburg - It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joyce A. (Cahill) LaFrenier, on July 7, 2024 at the age of 82. She was a faithful wife to her late husband, Wade B. LaFrenier, and devoted mother to her only daughter, Lynn Roffee.

Joyce was a kind and generous person, always putting the needs of others before her own. She will be remembered for her quiet, but warm personality and always wearing her favorite color purple. She was happiest spending time with her family every holiday, going on shopping adventures, going out to eat, or simply watching her favorite football teams: The New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs. She was a loyal patron of the Fitchburg Public Library all of her adult life where she fulfilled her voracious love of reading. She enjoyed meeting weekly with friends at her “Breakfast Club” at the North End Diner, and often shared fond memories of her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren, of whom she was so proud. Ray, Elaine, Jackie and all the staff at the Diner will deeply miss her kind spirit.

Joyce was born on August 1, 1941 in Leominster, MA, daughter of the late Ronald and Cecile Cahill. She attended St. Leo’s School and graduated from Leominster High. During her career, she was an Office Assistant at each of the former E.I. Dupont and Mi-Lor Corporations in Leominster; and a Call-Center Operator at Verizon in Gardner prior to her retirement.

She is survived by her daughter: Lynn (Dave) Roffee of Gardner, Two Sisters: Nancy (Jim) Alderman of Vienna, Ohio, and Sandra Belliveau of Craftsbury, VT. Three grandsons: Tyler Roffee of Concord, NH; Spencer Roffee of Minneapolis, MN; and Jagger Roffee of Gardner, MA. A niece: Sherry (Mike) Melanson, and two nephews: Jerry Belliveau and Ron Alderman.  Ronnie (Gail) Leblanc and many cousins. She was predeceased by Cheryl Ann, Jeff, and Jerry Belliveau, Sr.

Joyce’s memorial service will be Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West Street, Leominster. A calling hour from 10:00-11:00 will be followed by a Christian Service from 11:00-11:30. Interment right after at St. Leo’s Cemetery, 360 Lancaster St., Leominster, where she will be laid to rest with her parents. She will always be loved and in our hearts forever.
