Laura Cavanagh Obituary

Leominster - Laura Lee Cavanagh (Dignard), 51, of Leominster, Massachusetts, passed away on September 13, 2025, in Worcester, MA. Born on October 14, 1973, in Leominster, Laura remained deeply connected to the community throughout her life and passed surrounded by her loving family. Her journey was one marked by compassion, dedication, and an unwavering love for those around her. Laura's story is filled with love, laughter and her unshakable spirit that touched all who knew her. Laura remained a lifelong resident. She was a proud graduate from Leominster High School, Class of 1991. Laura found her calling as an ABA tutor at Frances Drake Elementary, where she made a meaningful difference in the lives of children. Her work reflected her deep empathy and commitment to helping others thrive, and she loved those children very much. She brought warmth and understanding into every space she entered, leaving a lasting impact on the families she supported. Above all else, Laura cherished being a mother. She found immense joy in raising her daughters, Leah and Lindsey. Whether practicing sports with them or driving around town to admire Christmas lights together, Laura embraced every moment of motherhood with enthusiasm and love. Her devotion to her girls was evident in everything she did. She never failed to attend a game or competition or be there for a shoulder to cry on and be consoled. Laura’s vibrant spirit shone through in the many activities she enjoyed. She had a passion for Theatre at the Mount and delighted in coloring, traveling, trips to the ocean, watching movies, and visiting Disney—a place that captured her sense of wonder and joy. She loved to bake, Capture life's greatest moments, and grew up engaged in Field Hockey, Softball, and Dance. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life and shaped the path she walked with grace and strength. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Leah and Lindsey; their father Daniel Cavanagh; her parents, Rose (Ciccone) and Kenneth Dignard; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, beloved cousins, friends, and her cherished cat, Bean. Laura was predeceased by her grandparents, Armando Ciccone and Mary (Armillotti) Ciccone; her grandmother Janet (Holman) Dignard; her grandfather, Bernard Dignard, and his second wife, Andi; her aunt, Donna (Dignard) Behring, and her uncles Matteo and Raymond. Although Laura was an only child, she was a loving daughter, cousin, godmother and a loyal friend. She shared a special bond with her cousins, who considered her a sister. Her life was also enriched by the countless friends who became family along the way. Those who knew Laura will remember her as someone with the most beautiful soul—caring beyond measure and always ready to help without hesitation. She embodied kindness in its purest form and offered comfort simply by being herself.
