Lawrence Bouchard Obituary

W. Glover, VT - Larry Bouchard, 66, (known by friends and family as "Captain", lived in West Glover, Vermont, formally of Fitchburg, MA, died in a boating accident along with fiance' Cheryl (Girouard) McLellan on Sunday, July 25, 2021, in Crystal Lake, Vermont.  Their loving dog, Tara was with Larry and Cheryl and swam to shore, and is now living with Larry's daughter, Alaina.

After attending Fitchburg High School, he worked with his Dad's Family Produce Business.  He enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany as a marksman during Vietnam War.  He received a National Defense Service Medal and in 1974 was honorably discharged.  He worked at Avery Dennison as an engineer and machinist until he retired at age 55, so he could fulfill a dream to relocate in West Glover, Vermont and build a home there with his fiance' Cheryl.  When not fishing, Larry enjoyed being with family and friends camping, riding his snowmobile, and his four-wheeler or just relaxing on his  pontoon boat.  He had a love for animals, nature and helping others.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Alaina Jamie Bouchard and three grandchildren, Gabriel, Alexander and Chloe, four siblings; Nancy (Bouchard) Belliveau and husband Tom of Leominster, Carol (Bouchard) Ellis and husband Leo, who passed away in 1991, Mike Bouchard of Fitchburg, Bruce Bouchard and wife Carol of Woburn.  His love for children also leaves behind many nieces and nephews: Brian, Kelly, Christina, Alicia, Kara, Christopher, Nicholas, Amander, and godfather to Joel Krantz and Brian Belliveau.

Larry was predeceased by his Dad, Daniel Bouchard in 2018 and his Mother, Rita (Miller) Bouchard in 2008.  His former wife Janet Massalski died in 2017.
