Leominster - Loretta A. Les, 99, of Leominster, Massachusetts passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Manor on the Hill.
She was born on September 16, 1925 in Leominster, to Wilfred and Eva (Pronovost) Lozeau, and lived in Leominster all her life. She was married for 52 years to her loving husband, Mitzie T. Les, until his death in 2007. She was predeceased by her sister, Doris Dignard.
Loretta was a gift to all who knew her. One of her greatest delights was making friends throughout her lifetime, including her neighbors on Colburn Street for more than four decades, her line dancing group at the Leominster and Fitchburg Senior Citizens Centers, her boisterous Dunkin’ Donuts coffee crew and her caring community at Manor on the Hill. Every time you saw Loretta, she was always smiling or laughing and you were guaranteed to receive at least five compliments. She experienced so much change in her 99 years and her ability to remain open-minded and evolve is a lesson to all of us.
She nurtured her family in so many memorable ways. Throughout the years, she sang the same comforting songs to her children, her grandchildren, and then her great-grandchildren. She always expressed genuine curiosity about our lives and we were never too old for a back rub. She infused her cooking with love, and we always looked forward to her many specialties, like chicken tenders, chocolate cream pie, and gravy on Thanksgiving. She lived a long, fulfilling life, and the legacy of love she has passed through several generations will continue.
Loretta is survived by her two daughters, Ann Antocci and her husband, Joseph, Janice DiNardo and her husband, David; six grandchildren, Lauren Perdue, Joseph Antocci, Sarah DiGeronimo, Peter DiNardo, Elise Schoch and Benjamin DiNardo; six great-grandchildren and countless friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Holy Family of Nazareth Church, 750 Union Street, Leominster, MA. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. A visitation hour will be that morning in Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West Street, Leominster, MA from 9:15AM to 10:15AM.
