Leominster/Lowell - Louise Adelaide (Austin) Marrone, 84, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2022 at D’Youville Life and Wellness Center in Lowell, MA after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on January 8th, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Louise Austin.
Louise was born on a small farm in Leominster on the upper end of West Street and was always proud to share the details of learning how to drive a farm tractor as a teenager. She was educated at St. Leo’s School, St. Bernard’s School and was a graduate of Stevens Business College, formerly in Fitchburg MA.
Louise worked at many businesses over the years, those being Newbury’s Dept Store in Leominster, Dr. Smith’s dental office, Leominster High School, Crisci Tool & Die / Acromatics, and retired from Nypro/Jabil in Clinton MA.
Her greatest pride in life was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She leaves behind Michael and Cheryl Marrone of Newport RI, Charles Marrone of Sterling, Lisa Marrone and Bill Mitchell of Sterling. Her grandchildren, Meghan Marrone (and Erik Carlson), Zakary Vallee, and Jacob Vallee. Her great grandchildren, Ethan Marrone-Rey and Meadow Carlson.
Louise enjoyed spending time with her family, was always outdoors working in the yard, her flower gardens, loving nature, and all animals. Her parents operated a hobby-farm, selling milk to neighbors, and raising animals while working full-time in Leominster at a shirt factory where they met. She also delighted in sharing her birthday with Elvis. Louise had a great sense of humor and everyone she knew became an instant friend. She was quite independent, very hard-working, and was loved by many.
She was of English-Scottish-Irish decent with her family heritage immigrating from Europe into Portland, Maine. Louise is predeceased by her former husband, James J. Marrone of Oregon, her many siblings and family pets, Mick, Salty, Moo-Moo, and Digger.
The family is grateful for her dedicated caregivers and medical staff. Particularly by Summit Eldercare of Leominster, Applewood Rest Home of Athol MA and very sincerely for D’Youville Life and Wellness Center of their compassionate and loving care in her final days.
By the wishes of Louise, burial arrangements will be held privately for immediate family only. A celebration of her life and open gathering for friends will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Louise, the family welcomes donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in support of her team called “ Lou’s Crew “ using this link http://act.alz.org/goto/Lou_Crew
