Marcel Gerard Vezina, 93, of Marco Island, Florida, passed away on November 23, 2018. He was born on September 4, 1925 in Milford, Massachusetts.
Marcel was a successful business man. He was the founder of Vezina Crane Service located in Leominster, Massachusetts. He loved children and taught welding at Leominster Trade School. He was on the Board of Directors at Fitchburg Savings Bank, a member of Oak Hill Country Club and a lifetime member of the Elks, residing in Leominster, Massachusetts, retiring to Marco Island, Florida in 1971. His hobbies were flying his Cessna, boating, fishing, golf and creating metal molds and parts in his garage during his retirement years. He was a very kind man whose entire life revolved around his family.
Survivors include: daughters, Denise LeBlanc of Port Charlotte, FL; Michelle (James) Edwards of Osprey, FL; son, Marcel (Marguerite) Vezina II of Marco Island, FL, granddaughter, Renee Vezina of Syracuse, NY and sisters; Mariette Poirier of Winchendon, MA and Monique Nowak of Charleston, SC.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank J. and Cecile E. (Boisvert) Vezina, his wife, Simonne (Soulliere) Vezina, brothers; Gabriel Vezina, Lionel Vezina, Noel Vezina, Claude Vezina and sister Paula Sammit.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Simonne and Marcel's names to the Alzheimer's Research Organization of your choice, "a gift to honor or remember a friend, family member or loved one".
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 7, 2023, in St. Cecilia's Church, 168 Mechanic Street, Leominster, MA. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
