Margaret Royka Obituary

Leominster - Margaret Mary (Kent) Royka, 84, of Leominster/Worcester, MA died peacefully surrounded by family after a brief illness in home hospice.  She grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts, the daughter of John F. Kent and Mary (Kane) Kent.  She graduated from Ascension High School in Worcester and attended Worcester State College, American Institute of Banking and the US Council on International Banking.

Ms. Royka was a Manager of International Services at Mechanics Bank of Worcester for 10 years, Banking Officer at Fleet Bank, Boston, MA for 6 years and Assistant Treasurer-Manager at Bank Hapoalim, Boston, MA for 10 years. 

She leaves a son, Paul Royka, daughter-in-law Deborah Russo, a granddaughter Sarah Royka and a grandson Jamie Royka of Lunenburg, MA.  She also leaves the extended Gleason family of Worcester. She is predeceased by her loving husband Robert A. Royka husband of 32 years.

Ms. Royka was a member of the Worcester Business and Professional Women’s Club, the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division #36 of Worcester and served as the past president of Worcester Women’s Auxiliary.  She enjoyed time with her grandchildren and the Gleason family, singing with Assumption Schola Gregoriana Choir at Assumption College, Irish music, walks at Farandnear in Shirley, MA, sailing on the Victory Chimes, trips to Monhegan Island, Maine, Bermuda, Israel and Egypt.

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be sent to JHC Hospice, 646 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.  Relatives and friends are invited to an outdoor celebration of life at Farandnear in Shirley, MA at a future date.  To leave a note of condolence visit www.wrightroyfuneralhome.com
