Maria Camacho Obituary

Leominster - It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother (Mae), Maria Hortense De Freitas Camacho (age 79) on June 1st, 2023, at Lowell General Hospital after a long battle with Alzheimer disease. She leaves behind her husband Fidelio Camacho of 57 years, her three children, Paulo Camacho and his wife Lee-Ann Camacho, Charles Camacho and his wife Rosa Camacho, Debbie Camacho, and her husband Geoffrey Holt. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Jacky Camacho, Bryce Holt, Scarlet Camacho, Tiago Camacho along with her two step-grandchildren, Julia and Kathryn Holt and her great grandson, Elih Watson. She is also survived by her sisters Diana Pais and Connie Andrade along with her three nephews and two nieces.

Born on February 24th, 1944, in the Azores, Mae (Hortense) was a beacon of light in our lives. Her warm smile and tender heart had the power to bring solace to anyone in need. She was a wonderful wife, a nurturing mother, an adoring grandmother. Her unconditional love and unwavering support were constants in the lives of all who knew her.

Mae had an unparalleled zest for life. She embraced each day with enthusiasm and grace, finding joy in the simplest of moments. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to their happiness and well-being. She had an innate ability to create a home filled with love, warmth, and laughter, where cherished memories were forged.

She taught us the value of kindness, empathy, and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on our lives.

Mae has now embarked on her final journey, leaving behind a treasure trove of beautiful memories. While we mourn her loss, we take solace in knowing that she is reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her. Her spirit will forever live on in our hearts, guiding us with her love and wisdom.

In honoring her memory, let us carry forward the legacy of love, compassion, and strength that she exemplified. Let us cherish the time we had with her and find solace in the profound impact she had on our lives. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all whose lives she touched.

Forever loved and deeply missed, Mae will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Rest in peace, Hortense (Mae)
