Maria Elisa Maldonado-Escobales

Leominster - Maria Elisa Maldonado-Escobales, 88, of Leominster, died October 7, 2021, at home with her family by her side.  She was born May 4, 1933, in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Clemente Maldonado and Librada Escobales Maldonado. Maria had worked as a cook in the restaurant industry.

She is survived by her sons; Edwin Nieves of Puerto Rico, Fernando Nieves of Florida, Carlos Ortiz of Fitchburg, MA,  Angel Rivera if New Jersey, Armando Ortiz of Florida and Miguel Rivera of New York, along with one daughter, Wanda Moreno of Leominster, 27 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.   She also leaves several brothers and sisters.  

Maria was predeceased by one son, Armando Ortiz and one daughter, Awilda Ortiz

Calling hours will be held, Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. in Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West Street, Leominster, MA.

Services in Puerto Rico, will take place at Funeraria Shalom Memorial, 1646 Paseo Villa Flores, Ponce, Puerto Rico,  on Monday, October 11, 2021, with calling hours from 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. and a service on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
