Leominster - Marie E. (Crowley) Simms, 79, of Leominster, died January 15, 2023. She was born in Clinton, MA, daughter of the late D. Frank and Statia (Nicewicz) Crowley. She was a graduate of St. Leo's Elementary School, St. Bernard's High School and Fitchburg State College, where she received her Bachelor's Degree and her Master's Degree. Marie was a member of St. Leo's Parish and Montachusett Choral. She was a volunteer for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Marie was an elementary school teacher for the City of Leominster, an ESL tutor, as well as a CCD teacher at St. Leo's Parish.
Marie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth R. Simms of Leominster, three sons; Christopher D. Simms and his wife Laurissa of Leominster, Jonathan P. Simms and his wife Sara of Fitchburg, and Brian J. Simms of Leominster, two brothers; Daniel Crowley and his wife MaryJo of Leominster, Paul Crowley and his wife Nancyellen of Leominster, two sisters; Patricia F. Reid of Webster, Frances B. LeBlanc of Leominster, two grandchildren; Lotus Marie Simms and Kellan Simms, along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by a son William M. Simms on November 25, 2018.
Marie's funeral will be held Monday, January 23, 2023, from Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West Street, Leominster, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Leo's Church, 128 Main Street, Leominster, MA. Burial will follow in St. Leo's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
