Leominster -
In loving memory, Michael Harry Tufts, age 59, died surrounded by family on Tuesday April 4, 2023, following a three year battle with ALS. Michael was a devoted husband of 34 years to his lifelong best friend, Cheryl Tufts. He was a loving father to his two daughters, Jessica Duffy and Nicole Harris, as well as to his sons-in-law, James Duffy and Collin Harris. Of all of his titles, his favorite was Grampy. Michael was the most loving, supportive, and caring Grampy that Charlie Duffy, Benjamin Duffy, and Conner Harris could have asked for. He loved watching them swim, play, laugh, sing, and grow.
Michael is also survived by his loving parents, Sandra and Thomas Tufts of Rindge NH. Michael was the middle child in his family, survived also by his brother Thomas Tufts and wife Sharon, sister Kathy Diorio and husband Richard, sister Cindy Callahan and husband Willliam, and brother Steven Tufts and wife Tracey. Michael loved being an Uncle to all of his nieces and nephews, and was the first one to attend sports games, plays, and all kinds of activities that they enjoyed.
Michael spent the majority of his career as a yield engineer for Intel at the Hudson, MA location. He enjoyed his job and colleagues there and spoke of his treasured memories with them often. When that location closed, he moved to Brooks Automation in Chelmsford, MA, where he worked as a quality engineer and met more wonderfully supportive people that made going to work something he continued to enjoy until his very last day.
Michael was a selfless person who would drop anything to help anyone. Family, friends, strangers and, of course dog's could always count on him to lend a hand, or throw a tennis ball. He will be missed by so many people, and dogs alike.
