Leominster - Norma R. (Furlani) Antonioni, 94, of Leominster, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2023 in Health Alliance Hospital, Leominster with her family by her side. She was born March 18, 1928, in South Boston, MA, daughter of the late Adriano and Maria (Tonucci) Furlani. Norma was a graduate of Dorchester High School. Prior to graduating, she was released early to work at MIT Lincoln Labs to aid in the war effort. After the war, she worked at Bourque Wholesalers. On February 8, 1948, she married George J. Antonioni in St. Ambrose Church, Dorchester.
Norma played an integral role in getting two family restaurants started - 'The Lazy A' - and later Il Camino Restaurant, both in Leominster. She was also very helpful in starting her mother's restaurant, Maria's Restaurant in Braintree, MA. She worked part time at the restaurants while raising her children.
Norma was a member of St. Anna's Parish, Leominster, St. Anna Society, Venerini Guild and the Hospital Guild. She loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren. She babysat them as infants. She also loved traveling to Europe and to go on cruises.
Norma is survived by her husband of nearly 75 years; George J. Antonioni of Leominster. Their anniversary date is February 8th. She's also survived by two sons; George J. Antonioni Jr and his wife Ann-Marie of Westminster, Christopher Antonioni of Leominster, her daughter; Tina Logan and her husband Donald of Leominster, her grandchildren; Erin Logan of Newton, Ryan Logan and his wife Ellery of Leominster, and her great-grandchildren; Rocco Logan and Archer Logan.
She was predeceased by a sister, Delores Bregoli and a brother, Harold Furlani.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 7th at 11:00 AM in St. Anna's Church, 199 Lancaster Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Leo's Cemetery, Leominster.
A Calling hour will be held from 9:30-10:30 in Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West Street, Leominster, that morning, prior to the funeral.
