April 1, 1930 ~ February 13, 2023 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Oliver Dinsmore Obituary

Charlton -  Oliver K. “Ollie” Dinsmore, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2023 at his residence in the Overlook Health Center.  He would have turned 93 on April 1st.

He leaves his beloved wife of 17 years, Audrey Dinsmore.  He also leaves his daughter, Mary Jane Krumdick and her husband Jack, a son, David Dinsmore, who lives in Florida; Audrey’s children, Roxanne Ball and her husband Richard, Jeffrey Rawson and his wife Teri, Robin Dusza and her husband Ron, Jody Rawson and his wife Laurie.  In addition, he leaves his loving grandchildren: Jon Krumdick, Justin Krumdick, James Dinsmore, Heather Bernier, Ethan Rawson, Spenser Roy, Matthew Ball, Nicholas Rawson, Sadie Roy, Aidan Rawson, and one great grandson, Connor Bernier.  

Oliver was predeceased by his first wife of 48 years, Elizabeth Dinsmore. 

He started his career at the young age of 16 at a paper factory, studying to become the stationary engineer at Fitchburg Gas and Light, and Burbank Hospital, he eventually retired from General Motors in Framingham.

Oliver proudly served 28 years in the Army Reserves with the 101st Ordnance Company.  He retired as the Master Sergeant, in charge of the Fort Devens Mess Hall.  

He was a lifetime member of the Leominster Sportsmen’s Club and traveled all over New England competing in Cowboy Shooting Action competitions, earning many championships and medals as an elder statesman.  Oliver competed under the alias of “Oliva Sudden”. 

“Ollie” will truly be missed by everyone who knew him.  He lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures like spending time with family and friends, playing pool, and cribbage.  Oliver was the epitome of a chivalrous gentleman who always put others’ needs before his own.  His happy demeanor, along with an infectious love of song and dance will never be forgotten.  Oliver could often be heard advising his grandsons, “You’ve got to learn to dance so you can meet the girls!”

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Saint Michael’s on the Heights, 340 Burncoat Street, Worcester, MA 01606.  A calling hour will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the church.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 357 Main Street, Leominster, MA, 01453.  To leave a note of condolence for his family, or to share a fond memory, please visit: www.wrightroyfuneralhome.com
