Orlando Lisciotti Obituary

January 1934 – December 2020

Grief is the last act of love we have to give to those we loved.  Where there is a deep grief, there was great love.

Orlando R. Lisciotti, aged 86, departed this world peacefully after a brief illness to be in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born and raised in Leominster, he was the last-born child of the late Egidio and Erminia (Lucci) Lisciotti, who immigrated from Italy.

He was a 1953 graduate of Leominster High School and a life-long parishioner of St. Anna’s Church.

He proudly served our country in the US Navy as a Construction Mechanic stationed in Morocco and was awarded the national Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.

Starting his career as a mechanic he later went on to work as a custodian for multiple schools in the City of Leominster before his retirement in 1997.  Most of his co-workers referred to him as “The Big O” or Landy.

In his younger years he loved to fix cars, dance, bowl, and tend to his bountiful garden.  He also loved to take road trips and vacation any chance he got, treasured his visits with family and friends, the slots at Foxwoods, and had such a love for animals.

He was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 406 of Leominster and American Legion.

There are so many ways to describe Orlando: caring, loyal, funny, honest, opinionated, strong. He was an amazing friend, loving husband, and adoring father.

The family would like to give special thanks and sincere appreciation to the staff of Keystone Nursing home who have taken such good care of him over the past two years and his former caregivers Domenic Dawson and Miguel Sanchez.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Rosalie (Fiorentino) Lisciotti of 57 years who passed in 2018 and his siblings Esterina, Emerico, Emelio, Elisa, Anita, Enita, George, Pierino, Alice & Domenic.  The party “up there” has officially begun and now that the Lisciotti clan is together again we know it will be done Italian style! Saluti!

He will be forever missed by his “Lovely Adopted Princess”, Christine Lisciotti, and her partner Mike Richard of Leominster, and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on December 31, 2020 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Anna’s Church, 194 Lancaster Street, Leominster. Interment will follow in St. Leo’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are December 30, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.   Wright–Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West Street, Leominster, MA is directing arrangements.
