Richard Brandes Obituary

Leominster - Richard M. Brandes, 57, of Leominster, died January 29, 2023, at home.  He was born December 23, 1965, in Leominster, son of June (Nutting) Draleaus and Raymond Brandes Sr. As a child he attended Crotchet Mountain and Beverly School for the Deaf. In 1986 he graduated from American School for the Deaf in Hartford Connecticut. He loved to spend time with his Deaf friends as well as all his hearing friends he had met over the years. He really enjoyed sports; attending baseball games with family, watch wrestling, basketball and football games. He was an avid Patriots fan.  He loved going to all of his brother's houses and hang out with friends and family either in the lake, on the boat or swimming in the pools. He definitely enjoyed his favorite drink, Coca-Cola.  Richard loved helping take care of the family dog, Moe.

Richard is survived by his mother; June Draleaus of Leominster, his father; Raymond Brandes Sr. of Milford, NH, his three brothers; Raymond "Rusty" Brandes Jr., of Sterling, Steven Brandes of Ashburnham and Paul Draleaus Jr. of Leominster, one sister; Jacqueline Brandes-Gerber of Gardner numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephew.

Richard's funeral will be held Monday, February 6, 2023, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anna's Church, 199 Lancaster Street, Leominster.  Burial will follow in St. Leo's Cemetery.  A calling hour will be held Monday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 in Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West Street, Leominster.
