Richard M. O'Leary

Leominster - Richard M. O'Leary, 82, of Leominster, died at Vibra Hospital, in Leicester, MA, after an illness.   He was born in Fitchburg, February 4, 1936, son of the late Dennis  O'Leary Sr., and Margaret (Healey) O'Leary.  

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1957, on the USS Boston, attaining rank of Seaman 1st Class, CAG-1.  Mr. O'Leary was Blessed by the Pope in Rome in 1956.  He worked for Fitchburg Paper Mill Co. for 20 years, then at the Decotone Division for 25 years, and then as  manager for Service Master.  He was an avid Sportsman and Collector of all sports.  He was Coach, Manager and President of the Westminster Little League, a member of the American Legion #159, and a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Parish in Leominster.

Mr. O'Leary is survived by his wife of 11 years, Claudita O'Leary of Leominster, his children; Shawn O'Leary, James O'Leary, Kevin O'Leary, Kathleen Bastarache and Colleen Palmer, his step children; Christiane Pereira, Nara Sposito, Alexandre Sposito, Nilson Sposito Jr., and Max Golcalves along with 14 grandchildren and the mother of his children, his former wife, Marvoureen Wilson.

Richard's funeral will be held Tuesday, April  10, 2018, from Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West St., Leominster, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, in Holy Family of Nazareth Church, 750 Union St., Leominster.  Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Fitchburg.  Calling hours will be held Monday, April 9th, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
