Rita A (Cabana) Basque

Leominster - Rita A. (Cabana) Basque, 99, of Leominster, died January 28, 2025, in Leominster, with family by her side.  She was born May 10, 1925, in Woonsocket, RI, daughter of the late Eugene and Dona (Gilbert) Cabana.  After graduating high school, Rita went on to earn her Associates Degree at Becker Jr. College.  She had worked as Secretary for the Leominster Public School System at  Johnny Appleseed School in North Leominster.   She was a member of St. Leo's Church.

Rita is survived by her son; Gary Basque of Leominster, and two daughters; Susan Veitch of Summerville, SC and Diane Shnitzler of Falls Church, VA.

Rita's Funeral will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West St., Leominster, MA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Leo's Church, 128 Main Street, Leominster.  Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster.   Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February  11th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
