Thomas Fraticelli Obituary

Leominster - Thomas G. Fraticelli, 89, of Leominster passed away March 4, 2026, in Notre Dame Long Term Care, Worcester, MA.    He was born in Leominster January 2, 1937, a son of the late Lorenzo and Jenni (Micciantuono) Fraticelli of San Giovanni, Foggia, Italy and Leominster, MA.

He is survived by his wife, Maryann (Bisol) Fraticelli; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen T. and Kara A. Fraticelli; daughter, LeeAnn; brother, Lawrence (Dick) Fraticelli, all of Leominster, and many brothers- and sisters-in-laws: nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Joseph N. Fraticelli.

Tom was a graduate of Leominster High School and of Boston University, where he earned a Degree in Business Administration  After graduating, he started working in the family-owned business which was then known as Fraticelli Oil in Leominster.  The company is now known as Fraticelli Oil & Propane.  The company was founded in 1932 by his father.  At the time that he took over the business, the company was located in a small facility on Noble Place, operating three trucks delivering fuel oil.

Tom met his future wife Maryann  and the couple married.  It was at the time of the energy crisis with petroleum shortages and elevated prices.  Always known for his dry sense of humor, Tom told Maryann that he was thinking about getting out of the oil delivery business and opening up a restaurant.  His plan was that she would be the cook in the business. When Maryann asked what Tom's role in the restaurant would be, he replied, "I can seat the people".

Tom's dreams of opening the restaurant never materialized.  He persevered with the fuel oil delivery business and using his talents, the business grew.  At the time of his retirement, the company grew to 30 trucks encompassing a new multi-acre modern plant built on Litchfield Street, where it remains today: a family-owned and operated fuel provider serving Central Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.

In addition to being a loving husband and outstanding father, he was active within his community.  He was an accomplished musician, playing (Aalto, Bari) saxophone in the Group 70 Orchestra, an orchestra that was started by his brother Joseph in 1970, for many years.

Tom was a member of the Knight of Columbus, Serra Club of Worcester North, Italian Cultural Society and St. Anna's Parish.
