Leominster - Violet Racine, 89, of Leominster MA, passed away on January 23, 2024.
Violet was born on July 1, 1934, to Clara & Lynn Baldwin. She was the 7th of 9 children. She is survived by her older brother Ned Baldwin and younger sister Mary Pena. She would go on to be the matriarch of 6 children of which she is survived by, Nancy Schiffman, Mark Racine, Mona Carrion, Michelle Holden, Michael Racine, Mickey Racine, as well as her 16 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Violet was best known as a caretaker, of her family and at the Leominster Hospital where she worked as both an employee and volunteer. As a volunteer, she dedicated over 10,000 hours and was named Volunteer of the Year in 2020.
Violet who also went by Mema lived a long and fulfilling life. She was impactful to every life she touched. She leaves behind memories and stories to keep her memory alive.
Calling hours will be held at Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc. 109 West Street, Leominster, MA, on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. with a funeral service beginning at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in her name (Violet Racine) as she fought Parkinson’s for many years.
