Arthur P St. Yves Jr.

Arthur P. St. Yves, Jr., 83, a proud life-long resident of Leominster, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2021 with his daughter Pamela by his side, at The Highlands Long-Term Care facility after a short stay. He was born on July 2, 1937 to the late Arthur P. and Theresa (Armstrong) St. Yves.

Arthur attended Leominster High School and after graduation in 1956, worked for many years with the former Mead Corporation. During this time, he was a member of the Army National Guard with “E” Company, 2nd Battalion 181st Infantry regiment, 26th Yankee Division then with Aviation Battalion 26th Division.

On June 18, 1960, Arthur married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Jeannette Melanson. The couple celebrated fifty-six years together until Jeannette’s untimely passing in June of 2016.

Arthur’s work career continued with Digital Equipment Corporation for twenty years, working in many facilities in the Massachusetts and New Hampshire areas, in various positions. He completed his work career as a Patient Registrar in the Emergency Department at HealthAlliance Hospital, retiring in 2014 after seventeen years. Those last years, even as stressful as they were sometimes, were some of his best years. He made many friends who have always been there for him and Jeannette and they truly meant the world to him.

Arthur leaves behind his beloved daughters and their families, Diane and Kenneth Hamilton, Ashburnham, Lynn and Andy Keys, Shushan, NY, Pamela St. Yves Steffenberg, Leominster, grandchildren, Kayla Hamilton, Cody and Ania Hamilton, Connor Hamilton, Madison Keys, Emma Steffenberg and John Steffenberg. He also leaves his brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Mary St. Yves, sister Joan St. Yves and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and good friends. He was also predeceased by his sister, Helen St. Yves and several in-laws and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Highlands and Home Health and Hospice for their compassion and support to Arthur these last few months. We know he was well taken care of.

A Funeral service will be held at Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West Street, Leominster on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will be following the funeral service at St. Leo’s Cemetery, Leominster.
